A: Rust911 Industrial concentrate is similar to the other rust removers, mechanism to remove the rust both use chelant technology. The other important feature of the diluted Rust911 is as strong or stronger than other rust removers in removing rust.

A: Any water that you can drink is acceptable, but you can use distilled, softened or other treated water if you wish. The hardness in waters in certain areas may be extremely high and the hardness may deplete some of the activity of some of the ingredients such as chelants, surfactants, etc. You are always welcome to get in contact with us if you to talk about your project.

A: Rust911 rust remover solution can be heated up to 160 F. This will greatly accelerate the rust removal process. Note: If you place large mass cold cast iron/steel parts into a hot bath, the temperature of the part will cool the bath and have to come up prior to accelerated rust removal.

A: The ultra concentrate should be mixed at 8 oz./gallon and is equivalent to the other rust removers as they sell it to the public. Increasing the concentration does not do much and 8oz/gal is optimized for maximum performance.

A: YES! Water activates the active chemical the removes the rust.

A: Yes. Our solution is very miscible and easily mixed into either hot or cold water. Use hot water to accelerate the rust removal process

A: When the solution turns black and you can no longer see through it. Then its time to dispose of the solution.

A: Properly Diluted Rust911 will remove at the same, or more, amount of rust as other rust removers. Based on side-by-side rust removal testing.

A: Rust911 Rust Removers are designed to work on steels, cast irons, galvinazated steels, copper, brasses, bronze, lead, Mill Scale, Laser Smut. It does not work on Aluminums.

A: Rust911 will not harm most plastics, rubbers, paints. If you are concerned, please try it on a small section of the part prior to fully immersing it. It should be also noted that using Rust911 on polished high carbon steels may cause a slight discoloring of the metal. This can be removed easily if it is not allowed to dry and you re-immerse in new fresh solution

A: Yes! Remove any gas from tank, wash with non-caustic detergent, rinse and pour in 8 oz./gallon water. Let stand until rust has been removed and rinse with warm water. Rust911 can be re-use over and over until it turns dark black in color. After de-rusting you can add isopropanol into the tank and swishing around and pouring out will remove any left over water.

A: Our Rust Remover is non-hazardous and should be disposed of according to local disposal regulations. Please note that the rust remover may pick up contaminants during the de-rusting process, and if you suspect anything, make sure to test prior to disposal.

A: One of the best ways is to use a plastic sheet, bucket, small submersible pump, garden hose and a sprayer. Drape the plastic sheeting under your part and fasten it so it will flow the water into a bucket. Install the pump in the bucket and half fill the bucket with Rust911 Rust Remover. Suspend the sprayer end so that it sprays solution onto the parts that you want clean. The spray water will be collected by the tarp and re-directed back into the bucket to recirculate back onto the part. You may have to relocate the sprayer to cover all areas.

A: Yes, Our product contains water and it will evaporate if not properly covered when not in use. Luckily, the active ingredient in our formulation does not like to evaporate as quickly as the water does. Simply, add fresh water to evaporated solution up to original level.
